The River Art Group is one of the oldest art cooperatives in Texas, created in 1947. Their art gallery has occupied the historic Florian House at 418 Villita St. since 1953. The cooperative sponsors a month-long competition, art on display in the gallery during September, and a two-day art show in historic La Villita each year featuring the winners of their annual art competition. This year's show will be on October 7th and 8th. Dozens of local artists will have booths lining the shaded Villita Street. Food, drink, and local musicians will provide a fun, festive environment for the entire family.
